END OF AN ERA

I am delighted to tell you all that I have sold my business, Caroline Gleeson Knitwear, to Fiona Beggs of Wagga Wagga, NSW. Fiona (left) and Caroline at the Old Bus Depot Market in Canberra. In 1993 by chance I met Clare McShane from Tasmania who had recently established Casaveen Knitwear and from there it all began.  I sold Casaveen knitwear for many years at field days and in private homes and met so many wonderful people in that time. Fowles Winery, Avenel

  Returning home down the Hume Highway we stopped at Fowles Winery near Avenel.  Recently re-opened after major renovations, it was much changed from the time we held a knitwear day there about 20 years ago in what was then Plunkett's Winery.  It was most impressive, a great place to stop for a break and meal and the facilities for larger occasions are exceptional. We enjoyed a delicious lunch before driving home.  On our travels we often take the road less travelled and today we found a gem.  The Old Gundagai Road from Wallendbeen to Coolac is a delightful drive...

Return to Mudgee

We always enjoy coming back to Mudgee.  With it's wide streets and wine and tourism destinations, the town has such a go ahead feel and at the same time a community atmosphere. It was great catching up with friends in Wagga Wagga and Orange.  All districts are feeling the effects of the long drought but welcome rain is approaching so there may be some relief at long last. Back to the High Country
