I am delighted to tell you all that I have sold my business, Caroline Gleeson Knitwear, to Fiona Beggs of Wagga Wagga, NSW.

Fiona (left) and Caroline at the Old Bus Depot Market in Canberra.

In 1993 by chance I met Clare McShane from Tasmania who had recently established Casaveen Knitwear and from there it all began.  I sold Casaveen knitwear for many years at field days and in private homes and met so many wonderful people in that time.

In 2001 I saw an advertisement for Tablelands Knitwear.  After meeting Tablelands principal Jenny Paton from Bathurst, NSW, I wholesaled and retailed Tablelands Knitwear in cities, towns and field days across south eastern Australia.

In 2003 a New Zealander came to one of my knitwear days wearing a beautiful merino possum jumper.  She suggested I might like to add these to my range and so began a wonderful association with several New Zealand knitwear manufacturers.

Al and I have thoroughly enjoyed travelling the country and meeting so many interesting people.  I know we will miss our yearly contact with my customers, many of whom have become friends.

Three weeks ago another chance encounter occurred when Fiona Beggs walked into my day at Wagga Wagga, NSW.  We talked at length and things have moved quickly since then.  Al and I are doing a few days with Fiona while she meets our many customers and becomes familiar with the business.  In the short time I have known Fiona it has become very clear she is the one to take this business into the future.

Thank you all and I hope you will support Fiona as you have supported me.
