WAY OUT WEST

We were on our way from Toowoomba to Nyngan and stopped by this magnificent cotton crop near Walgett, New South Wales where we met these French tourists who were also admiring the crop.  The lady on the right is a geologist and they were on their way to Lightning Ridge where opals are mined.

They were interested in our story and fascinated by the possum knitwear.  It is these chance encounters with interesting people and also the opportunity to see the Australian landscape and farming enterprise first hand that makes our journeys so special.
