Possum Facts

Merino possum is a world recognised eco fibre.  Possums were introduced to New Zealand in the 1800's but have no natural predators there.  The population has exploded and tens of millions of possums have decimated forests and destroyed the habitat of New Zealand's native birds and animals.  The Government has introduced a culling program and the use of possum fur assists New Zealand in its campaign to reduce this threat to its native flora and fauna.

The unique blend of fine merino wool and possum fur is a remarkably lightweight fibre with exceptional thermal properties.  Blending trials began in 1992 and now it is featured in a range of garments and blended with other luxury natural fibres such as silk and cashmere.

I select my range from the best New Zealand and Australian manufacturers and can often get special orders made in your choice of style, colour and size.
